Malta & Gozo
Five days between golden limestone cities, turquoise lagoons and seven thousand years of history, from Valletta’s baroque streets to the slow, wild beauty of Gozo.

“The colours of the sunset and the view from Mixta Cave over Ramla Bay are something I will never forget”
A small archipelago with a huge story: knights’ fortresses, prehistoric temples older than the pyramids, honey-coloured cities and some of the clearest water in the Mediterranean. This guide covers Malta, Gozo and Comino in five days. [Add a line about when you went and who this guide is for.]

Where to photograph Malta
The spots I return to, and the light that makes them.

Fort St. Angelo
My tip: photograph it from the Upper Barrakka Gardens, across the harbour, in the late afternoon, when the warm light hits its walls. For a different angle, shoot it from a dgħajsa at water level.

Mdina, the Silent City
My tip: wait until after sunset, when the lanterns light up and the lanes empty out. The golden stone glows against the blue sky.

Xwejni Salt Pans
My tip: go at golden hour, when the low light brings out the texture of the rock. From above, with a drone, the pans turn into a perfect geometric pattern.

Wied il-Għasri
My tip: shoot from the top of the cliffs looking down the gorge, around midday, when the sun reaches the water and turns it bright turquoise.
